SheTech activates, engages and inspires high school girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through hands-on experience and one-on-one mentoring. At SheTech Explorer Day, thousands of high school girls from across Utah join industry mentors from hundreds of Utah’s leading companies to try STEM careers firsthand with the experts who work in these jobs. Women Tech Council is excited to share with you how this program has grown to impact thousands of girls in Utah and beyond, and how you can get involved.

Reach and Impact:
• Since its launch over 5 years ago, SheTech has activated more than 12,000 girls to pursue STEM fields. Many of these students are now pursuing university degrees in STEM fields they discovered at SheTech.
• Last year, SheTech Explorer Day drew a record 2,000 high school girls from St. George to Box Elder County.
• Prior to attending SheTech Explorer Day:
o 89 percent of girls say they are not interested in STEM careers.
o 85 percent of girls say they don’t know a woman in STEM.
• After attending SheTech Explorer Day, 90 percent of girls said they were interested in pursuing STEM careers.
• Over the last five years, more than 700 mentors have participated in SheTech’s mentoring program from over 100 tech companies.
